Squirt was busy at the Sunday afternoon sail on November 25 towing Slime and Poppy upstream against a roaring tide.
Thanks to Peter Withington, Martyn Lloyd and John Parker for towing and to Tish Ennis, Michael Leydon, Sandra Morgan and the Toyer family - Tara, Kate, Rhian and James - for all their help.
It was great to see Victor Warren back on the water, and Dave Morris, who called in with his mum Betty from Ballina.
Sailing got underway at about 3pm, with Peter and John in Squirt, and Martyn and Victor in Poppy and Michael and Peter Ward in Slime.
Martyn then took Sandra out, by which time the southerly had strengthened enough to beat the tide (a bit).
Then it was time for "all ashore for pizza" while the Toyers showed us how to play beach cricket. A quiet day, but a very relaxing one.
Many thanks to Batemans Bay Bridge Club for its fifth donation to Sailability last week - a wonderful $541, the proceeds of their Melbourne Cup lunch. They are very kind and thoughtful.
On Friday, November 30, all members are welcome to attend a committee meeting at the Soldiers Club, at 2pm, in the boardroom.
Then, it's back to Monday sailing on December 3.
Pencil in sailing day on December 17 - the day of our Christmas party and the Batemans Bay Lions' sausage sizzle - just for us!
