Sailing day on Monday, November 19, was busy with a good turnout from Life Without Barriers and Bay High School.
The forecast nor'-easter came in early, though was a bit fluky during the day.
Bay High's Skye, Natalie, Dallas, William, Jordan, and Charlize all went for a sail, and thanks go to their teachers who take such great care of them.
Waving the flag for LWB were Edie, Ben and Peter, watched on by Jodie and Ray (great to see you, Ray).
Towing, lifting, rigging, skippering and safety boating for Sailability were John Parker, Peter Glen, Michael Leydon, Tish Ennis, Martyn Lloyd, Scott Berick, Christine Vincent, Peter Withington and Tony Henderson - another superb effort from our volunteers.
Martyn went for another solo sail afterwards and backed up his promotion to crew member with Marine Rescue the day before (congratulations) with a clear indication of being a competent Sailability skipper.
We missed Terry, George and Craig (who are taking things easy, recovering, or being checked out), so we look forward to them getting back on deck.
A visit yesterday from Brendan and Caitlin from the Commonwealth Bank brought welcome news of an offer of practical help in setting up and packing up on sailing days by a roster of bank staff. Great stuff!
This Sunday, November 25, is our next sailing day.
Watch your emails because the starting time could be in the afternoon with dinner after sailing - perfect at this time of year.
