A predicted easterly blew with a fury from the south-west until early afternoon so the boats were well furled for the morning sailing on December 3.
With the tide ebbing fast, Peter Withington and George Sawers on Squirt and Tish Ennis and Michael Leydon on JB towed up Martyn Lloyd and Peter Glen on Slime and Allan Rees and Peter Ward on Poppy, and then returned for John Parker and Edie Novak on Peter's Pride, with Scott Berick as beach co-ordinator, while Jodie kept watch from the "office".
Then it was all go with the Bay High students. Les, Skye, Dallas, William, Natalie, Charlize, who all enjoyed a mix of sailing and going out on JB during the day. Natalie tried out a seat specially made for her by Tish and it looked very comfortable indeed.
After lunch, with the tide rising and wind easing, the students had a couple of quick outings with Peter W and George back on Squirt and Martyn and Tish on JB. Our hard-working volunteers Michael, Peter G and Allan then took the opportunity for a leisurely sail before we packed up.
Just two sailing days before Christmas - December 10 and 17, the day of our Christmas party with the Bay Lions cooking the sausage sangers. Everybody and their families will be very welcome - as will all contributions of sweet treats.
Thanks again to all our wonderful volunteers, who work so very hard.
